Joe has 25 years of experience in finance and investments, having worked alongside the equity credit derivatives desk at Deutsche Bank, managed a $100 million family office balance sheet, built portfolio(s) for $275m in private wealth and served as a professional money manager overseeing $475 million in Assets Under Management (AUM). He currently is the Principal at KJLK & Co.
KJLK is an asset manager and financial consulting firm specializing in institutional fund development, feasibility studies, and democratized access to alternative strategies and private market managers through a Closed End, Fund-of-Funds with a perpetual open-ended mechanism that allows for the sale of subscription units in the primary market in perpetuity that will offer a publicly traded ticker that can be electronically transferred as well as custodied through a 401(k) and/or an IRA and can be brought to the secondary market by LPs through a very well-known global exchange every 30-days instead of solely relying on redemptions at the fund level for liquidity. The fund today has approximately $50B in investment capacity across 55 - 65 well known, reputable, value oriented, underlying alternative strategies and private market managers with an average track record of 10-years allocating across the broad spectrum of hedge fund strategies, private equity, private credit, venture capital, infrastructure, ntREITs, ntBDCs, and real assets.
In addition to his industry experience, Joe spent more than five years as a full-time university instructor at Northeastern State University (NSU), where he taught courses such as Finance Principles, Investments, Portfolio Management, and Derivatives. He also played an active role in mentoring students through the Student Managed Investment Fund along with assisting in the design, development, and supporting the Battenfield-Carletti Investment Lab.
Joe holds a Master of Science in Finance (MSF) from the University of Tampa, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stetson University, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Central Florida.
