Santiago Mtnez-Carvajal is a corporate and investment funds lawyer with more than 18 years of international experience across Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. He is currently a Senior Legal Consultant at Vale Law in the Cayman Islands, where he advises on fund structuring, fintech M&A, blockchain frameworks, and cross-border transactions.
Before joining Vale Law, Santiago held senior roles in law firms, family offices, sovereign funds and investment companies in Spain, Norway, the Netherlands, the UAE, and the Cayman Islands. His work has spanned private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, digital assets, regulatory compliance, and large-scale corporate restructurings. He frequently writes and speaks on Cayman Islands fund law, digital assets regulation, and evolving global compliance standards.
Santiago holds a Licenciate in Law (LL.B + LL.M equivalent) from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid. He has also completed executive-level master certificates in Project Management (George Washington University), Private Equity & Venture Capital (Università Bocconi, Milan), Financial Markets (Yale University, with Honors), and Blockchain in Financial Services (INSEAD, Paris). His combination of global perspective and technical expertise allows him to provide modern, adaptive strategies for clients and contribute to thought leadership in the investment funds and corporate law space.
