Rogerio Basso is a Principal at Impactum Capital Advisors, a boutique investment banking and advisory platform specializing in the hospitality and tourism sectors across Latin America and the Caribbean. The firm structures and sources innovative debt and equity solutions for institutional-grade tourism and real estate projects, while also providing strategic guidance aligned with ESG-driven impact-investing principles.
A seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience, Rogerio brings deep expertise across banking, development finance, and strategy consulting within the real estate and hospitality sectors. Before Impactum, he served as Head of Tourism for IDB Invest, the private-sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, where he strengthened the institution’s tourism vertical and advanced its role as a driver of sustainable economic growth in the region.
His prior experience includes serving as Chief Investment Officer at Key International, a Florida-based real estate investment firm, and as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions & Development at Terranum Hotels (dba Decameron Hotels), sponsored by Colombia’s Santo Domingo Group and the late Sam Zell’s Equity International. He began his career with more than a decade at Ernst & Young in Miami, where he led the firm’s real estate and hospitality advisory practice in Latin America, and gained his operational foundation with Four Seasons Hotels and Intercontinental Hotels Group.
Rogerio is frequently quoted in industry publications and is a regular speaker at hospitality and investment conferences across the Americas and Europe. He holds a BBA from the College of William & Mary and an MBA from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. A multilingual professional, he is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, with working knowledge of French.
