Global Chair, Private Equity Group
Reed Smith

Mark Pedretti is a senior transactional partner who serves as the Global Chair of Reed Smith's Private Equity Group and is an elected member of the Firm's Executive Committee. With over 30 years of experience, he specializes in private equity, mergers and acquisitions and fund formation.

Mark regularly represents asset managers, private equity and venture capital funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and other institutional investors in complex domestic and cross-border investment and financing transactions. He has served as lead partner on high-profile, multi-billion-dollar, as well as middle-market transactions, for clients across North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

His practice focuses on public and private mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, recapitalizations, joint ventures and management buyouts across a range of industries. Mark also has extensive fund formation experience, representing both GPs and LPs, and advises on public and private capital markets transactions.

As global capital flows between the Gulf, Asia, Europe and the United States continue to rise, legal complexity often creates friction, delays and unseen risks. Mark helps bridge legal systems, especially when GCC capital is being deployed abroad, ensuring deals are built on secure, flexible and compliant foundations. Whether launching a fund, executing a direct or co-investment, acquiring a company or entering a new market, Mark helps structure cross-border transactions that are strategically aligned with clients' long-term objectives.
