Fred Buffone is a Partner at Freedom 3 Capital and has more than 30 years of experience in middle market finance including sourcing, structuring, and syndication of private credit. Fred’s primary responsibilities consist of building out Freedom 3’s Insurance Dedicated Fund, managing relationships with investors in new and existing funds, and syndication of co-investments.

Prior to joining Freedom 3 in 2016, Fred was a Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets for Fifth Street Asset Management where he was responsible for origination of capital markets and club investments, providing market and investment intelligence to the firm, and syndication of private credit to co-investors. Fred has held similar roles at TD Securities, Jefferies & Company, Berenson Minella & Company, and CIBC World Markets.

Early in his career, Fred was an Analyst at Manufacturers Hanover Trust where he completed their Credit Training Program. Fred attended Boston University’s London Internship Program and received his B.S. in Commerce & Engineering from Drexel University.
