Christian Katzman serves as Head of Portfolio Advisory – Institutional & Private Client Services at Northwestern Mutual, where he advises fund managers, general partners, family offices, and private investors on portfolio construction, tax-advantaged strategies, and access to institutional-quality alternative investments. His team bridges capital market expertise with long-term wealth planning, helping clients optimize carried interest, fund economics, and legacy structures through innovative, multi-entity solutions.
Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual, Christian was Senior Vice President within the Global Corporate Investment Banking division at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group in New York, where he led fund coverage across private credit, hedge fund, and private equity platforms. Earlier, he was part of the investment team at Main Street Advisors in Santa Monica, conducting diligence on alternative managers, developing portfolio frameworks, and implementing risk and return analytics for institutional clients.
At Northwestern Mutual, Christian works closely with fund principals and sophisticated investors to align investment and insurance disciplines, leveraging the firm’s $700B platform and 150-year balance sheet to deliver integrated solutions that enhance after-tax returns and long-term capital efficiency.
Christian holds an MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University and a BA in International Business from the University of Southern California.
